Just in case...hospital transfer

This will be our first UC, I have been seeing a doctor for prenatal care. Should I register at the hospital just in case?

I think it wouldn't hurt, it will make things go quicker if you do decide to go in for whatever reason.

 I would, that would be one less thing to worry about if you need to transfer for any reason.

I don't see that pre registering would hurt anything. Your doc may continually ask if you have pre registered yet. If you don't just make sure you have your ID and insurance card handy if you need to transfer and you can register after the birth (assuming only reason you go to hospital is emergency). I haven't decided if I will pre register or not, it seems like  a waste of time and my time is getting more valuable the later in pregnancy (feeling cruddy and have 2 young children)

I didn't preregister, but not because of any concerns -- I just never went and got the paperwork (so, laziness). it shouldn't be at issue, and your doctor should be able to give you the paperwork at the office at one of your visits (i would think), so you could ask for it and do it fairly easily. I think my friend's doctor turned it in for her any everything. So she just got the paperwork at one appointment, and gave it back to him at the next appointment, and went from there. :)

I always preregister.  Made my one hospital birth a walk in the park at admission, rather than having to go through all the registration stuff.  And I did it all on line.  That is the way our hospitals work.
