I'm not sure if I should post this here or in vax forum, but we aren't going to be getting an vaccines so I don't think it applies there.
We were exposed to Pertussis last weekend -- it was a mother of 3 days and she was coughing up a storm. She is now in the hospital and her baby is at home. They just found out yesterday. I have done a lot of research on this so I am ready for if we have this. Kids are unvaxed and we haven't gotten any boosters, so its a waiting game at this point. I am mostly thinking of the antibiotics they recommend to prevent others from catching it, is that worth it? I would prefer to let this play out, does that mean we will probably want to stay home for the next 1-2 months though? We have planned -- 1 wedding, 2 birthday parties, many other picnics and my DD was going to go try some girl scout activities that are non-refundable. Should we avoid these events because of our exposure? Just curious what are options are from here. Thanks in advance!
