Just wanted to pop in and say that our son Declan arrived yesterday just after midnight, July 7th. My EDD was June 26th and I was getting ready to risk out of the birth center but he came on his own, when he was ready, fast and furious. It was an intense and beautiful birth, just 3 hours of really "active" labor once my water broke, and 15 minutes of pushing. He came out with his little hand in his mouth! I did have a postpartum hemorrhage and retained placenta, an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone, but feel grateful I never had to transfer to the hospital. My midwives and an OB who came to help handled everything beautifully. I'm so happy with the way things turned out! We're home, feeling great, and loving every minute with our new little guy. I hope to have a birth story and more photos to share soon, but for now here's his sweet face...I'm over the moon.
