VBAC

Thread Starter

This is my second pregnancy. My first was an emergency c-section and i wanted to try a vbac this time around. The problem is that i am more at risk of something happening because i was only stitched up once and not twice as most people are. I believe my doctor should not be practicing anymore because he literally made it a life and death situation for me if i decide to try a vbac. Im just trying to get an opinion on what i should do.

If you're talking about a single-layer suture rather than a double-layer, then you may have been misinformed. There are conflicting studies about which type is better, and a single-layer suture is not a life-or-death situation. It *might* increase the risk of rupture, but that has not been definitely established. I would not let that stop you from having a vbac. Check www.ican-online.org for additional information on this topic.
