What are you eating? - Page 3

I found that something bland or a bit salty was good.  Saltines are often recommended; I'm not a fan, but other crackers were good.  When I was really queasy, sometimes all I could think about eating was regular potato chips.  Toast or oatmeal is good.

I've gone from hungry as a horse to "get that food away from me... "

Last night I had mashed potato.  It's all I could manage.

I had some criss-cut fries that I cooked for dinner. My husband made burgers, but I just couldn't do it. I can't get much in my stomach at once.

Me either, I can only eat about a third of what I could normally.

Last night I made a tasty dairy-free quiche: mushrooms, spinach, beef bacon, onions, free range eggs from my neighbor, sesame milk, and homemade crust made with coconut oil instead of butter :) It was delicious! Dinner tonight is steak, zucchini, and corn on the cob, all on the grill. The veggies are from our garden, yum!

Cameragirl, I always have fresh ginger on hand for when I feel sick.  Usually after that, I'm able to eat/drink something with a bit more substance.  Also, gingerale usually helps upset tummies too!

Today I made a fresh avocado turkey wrap with a blueberry blast smoothie.  It was ahhhmazing.

So jealous of you both.  Even though I'm not a meat or egg eater, they all sounds really great.

Can you hear my tears splashing to the floor? That 2 pound box of gorgeous ruby-colored organic strawberries I just bought? Taste. Disgusting. DH says they are incredibly delicious.

Most things taste blah, nothing sounds genuinely appealing except really cold apples, really cold Brown Cow yogurt and really cold seltzer water.

Tonight I had chips and salsa for dinner. blush.gif In case you're ever at TJ's...the Adzuki bean and Rice chips are amazing!! So happy I've found a couple things that work for me so far.

Aww so sad! They still taste amazing to me but they are too acidic so if I have more than a few at a time I pay for it. Chocolate is disgusting to me =( my head still wants it so badly but my taste buds are so not on board...

I'm literally sitting here chowing on a jar of Nutella.  How bad is that? I'm making myself post because I'm so grossed out I'm doing this.

I just had a healthy helping of strawberry Twizzlers for breakfast so don't feel too bad about your Nutella.

I have totally done that...and I wasn't even pregnant at the time!!!

Yesterday I only managed some toast with butter and jam, a couple glasses of chocolate milk, a bunch of pickles, some chili cheese fritos (I know, disgusting) and a small pile of baked beans with cheese and sour cream. And some stale jelly bellies grossedout.gif

Today I had almost a whole a bag of salad with some nasty greek dressing. And once my sauce finishes reducing I'll have some crockpot roast beef marsala with lots of mushrooms. If I can manage that and a baked potato today I'll be happy. I'll have my glasses of chocolate milk, but I've lowered my expectations a lot. I'm just miserably sick all the time greensad.gif

I've been doing sandwiches and making smoothies. I had some cereal this morning and that went well. Also salt and vinegar potato chips are AMAZING to me right now (so glad we don't have those in the house right now). I've been craving red meat really bad too but I found if I spend more than 5 min making something I don't want to eat it after all that /sigh.

I have the same issue with not being able to eat stuff if I make it! I keep sending hubby for chow mein (MSG free) or I eat lemon cough drops because they are sour, but have sugar so at least my blood sugar goes up a bit and I don't feel so icky. We're going to Canada in a few weeks, so then I'm going to eat what I can of my mom's cooking, after 10 years of not seeing her! I hope I can keep it all down.

I just heated up a chicken pot pie. I hope it makes me feel better.

I've decided that I need to work harder this time at eating well -- being busy with the kids means I've been doing too many quick meals.  I tend to get bad indigestion towards the end of my pregnancies; in my last, it was so bad near the end that it was like I had food poisoning, and I was eating very little so my stomach would stay happy and keep the food I ate where it was supposed to be.  I'm hoping to eat really well especially at the beginning this time, and get a good start just in case it's the same this time, with a focus on foods high in iron and calcium.  I'm going to sit down and make a list of some meals I can make and snacks I can eat and make a meal plan.

One thing I'm focusing on is fish; I'm going to aim for pollock and salmon once a week each.  I just today started the spoonful of blackstrap molasses thing; I love blackstrap molasses, so I was surprised at how difficult it was to eat it.  I wonder if it's still good for me if I make taffy with it?  I'm going to pick up some almonds and dried fruit to snack on.  I might start having liver once a week.  My garden is bursting with swiss chard, so that will likely be my main source of leafy greens.  A bowl of yogurt with fruit and coconut oil (or a smoothie) is another daily aim of mine.

Healthy food sounds so appetizing right now, but I just don't want to cook.  Arg.  I'm hoping that changes soon.

My favs right now: watermelon - so refreshing! Cheese and toast and tomatoes. Yogurt. While wheat cookies.

Last pregnancy I would spread avocado on toast and sprinkle a bit of salt on it. I also ate Greek yogurt mixed with maple syrup (full if nutrients and protein). I started every morning with oj mixed with 1T of each ground flax and spirulina (I've not looked for it in Spain because we are returning next week). I had to stop the ok when the acid reflux started. I also used to eat an egg sandwich every morning yum!

We're going out for DD's bday tonight, so I think I might get a nice salad. I seriously crave food from Outback when I'm pregnant - especially their salads. I absolutely love the coconut shrimp, too.

Haha, JUST saw your comment. Thanks! Though right now the thought of cupcakes really turns my stomach, oh the irony. :-P

When we found out there was a heartbeat a friend gave me the most delectible cupcakes with little candy hearts on top (cue the : "awwwww"), and just the sight of them was revolting. My husband ate every last one. :) Though the little cupcake in my belly is MUCH more enticing!!
