i am pregnant with my second child. unplanned but perfect timing lol. I was told about two doctors that supports vbacs. Dr. Parchment and dr. banks. I looked up their names online and i see that ppl have issues with Dr. Banks. but i really want to go to morristown hospital since their success rates are very high and i want the best experience including having a great experience with the doctor but dr banks have mixed reviews. Should i give dr banks a try or go to dr. parchment? Who do you think i would have a better experience with?

Have you thought about interviewing both of them to see if you click more with one or the other? I met both and they both struck me very supportive of VBACs and natural birth in general.Â

I switched to Dr Banks at 38 weeks in a last effort to avoid a c-section for breech. I had an u/s with the hospital perinatologist and we figured out that due to his particular position and the position of the cord, a vaginal birth was pretty unlikely but at least she didn't make me feel like I didn't care about my baby because I was trying to avoid surgery (most doctors start pulling the dead baby card in situations like mine). I wound up going into labor on my own and she was pretty relaxed about the whole thing - didn't even seem to worry that I was a VBAC. She checked me and LO was definitely stuck (on his cord which we had suspected) so I was okay agreeing to the c-section. I had stayed home until contractions were 3 minutes apart just in case LO might want be willing to make a normal exit - I wanted every opportunity to try for another VBAC and she was pretty willing to give me that opportunity. DH thought I was nuts to make a switch like that (since we both loved the midwives I was using but they couldn't deliver breech) but he wound up really liking Dr Banks. She even told me that she was stitching me up with a good double layer so that I could have another VBAC if I wanted. ;) Â

I've talked to a couple women that have used Dr Parchment and really liked her a lot as well. She attended a VBAC discussion hosted by a Holistic Mom's group several years ago - that's definitely dedication to VBAC. :)
