ESL & Montessori

Is there a Montessori-based ESL curriculum out there?  I'll be working with DD and a few other neighbor children this summer who are learning English.  They need to work on comprehension and conversation.

I don't think you need a specific Montessori ESL curriculum for that.  However, from what I know about Montessori, it does not lend itself quite as well to conversations with peers, since it has primarily an independent learner focus.  In teaching children how to use Montessori materials, you would have to be very explicit in how you use the materials (which you should be anyway).

Are these children already literate in their native language?

I would probably use thematic units and incorporate everything with your theme . . .a lot of songs, a lot of books w/patterns, hands-on materials, etc.  You could come up with a theme that you think the children would like, and then get their input for the next one.
