Has anyone had twins at UCH in London?

Hi All

I am 22 weeks pregnant with twins and planning to have them at UCH. I'm hoping for as natural a birth as possible (circumstances permitting!) but am feeling discouraged by the hospital's approach to twin birthing, which puts me in the 'high risk' category and seems to recommend a load of interventions before anything has even gone wrong. I've heard that the best thing to do is to find an 'ally' among the midwives who can support me in looking at the options ... has anyone had twins at UCH recently and if so did you find anyone there sympathetic to a more natural approach?

is this in the UK? if so, I didn't birth there, but did birth elsewhere in the UK (most of the mamas here are US/ Canada i think)

i basically did a lot of research so i knew what MY comfort zones were, and then made decisions based on that, with my fingers in my ears to the scare mongering. if you want to chat offlist PM me.

i think EVERY hospital classifies twins as high risk btw, apart from Nigeria maybe where it's pretty normal and less risky than triplets!!!

Forum crashing (no mulitparas here), but I wanted to say that there are international mom's at Mothering. There are fora/threads for different geographic regions. You might want to try posting in the UK tribe, under "Finding Your Tribe"(look at the Forum home page to find it and then look further in the "Europe" subforum). You could find someone who has some experience at the hospital you're considering.
