Hey all,
Â
So I've been temping since Feb and usually have a full 1 degree or nearly 1 degree jump 1 dpo. This month I have a sloooooow rise. That seems odd to me, but I only have 4 charts to go on. Any ideas?

Sorry you haven't gotten any responses yet! Can you post a link to just this month's chart so we can see your CF data as well? It's a little hard to see with all the chart overlays, but I wouldn't classify this cycle as a slow rise. You have some pretty high temps in your pre-O phase that I would scrutinize and see if they should be discarded. Do you have a little one that is night waking and/or still nursing? Have you been experiencing disturbed sleep for any other reason?  How consistent are you with waking time? With more erratic temps like yours you're looking for an overall pattern of pre-O low temps and LP high temps. If you got rid of some of the higher pre-O temps (like CD 9 and 11) and focused on the temps closest to the spike (CD 16 and 17) then your spike is quite normal. Without seeing your CF data I can't say whether I agree with FF's assessment of your O day as CD 17 or if it's more likely CD 18, but it's clear to me that you have a high temp pattern after that and are on 8 or 9 DPO. Some women get accurate HPT results around this time, but I many need to wait until 12-14 DPO... another 4-6 days.  But I also want to say that you can get clear O spikes some cycles and have slower rises other cycles because your hormones are acting differently for any number of reasons. Again, look for an overall pattern of lows and highs.

Are you experiencing any spotting during your LP's? I'm noticing drastic dips during your LP's and also greatly varying LP lengths. In general your LP will only vary by 2 days unless you are regulating off of a hormonal event like birth, miscarriage, weaning, or stopping birth control. Are any of those happening for you? Â

No little one, no reason for odd temps that I can figure. I never spot during lp, except for today, which was only pinprick size. I am at a loss for the variable lp, I have not had any hormonal events. This cycle has been an odd one.Â
How have you been temping? What time? What kind of thermometer? How is your sleep? Maybe try vaginal temping?

I would say that it is more likely you ovulated on CD 18 and I would put your CL at 97.8 or 97.9. This is more inclusive of many of your pre-O temps and takes into account your fertile CF on CD 18 which dried up the next day- a classic sign of ovulation. FF thinks CD 17 b/c of the OPK you logged. Generally you'll O within 24-36 hours after a positive OPK, but I really don't put much stock in them being completely reliable. So personally I would count 8 DPO today when trying to decide when to test and if the test is accurate.

Today's spotting is interesting and could be implantation spotting (though it is not terribly common). Since your LP length seems to vary quite a bit we can't be sure when to expect AF. But except for that very short LP a few months ago it did appear that yours tends to be around 13 days or longer.  Any way you look at it, you should know within a week!
