*Help!!* I live in the Mansfield, Ohio area and I can not find a midwife! Well, I take that back.. I have found one around this area but I want my opportunities open! We are off birth control and after this cycle we will be ttc. I want my ducks in a row before traveling down this journey of pregnancy. I am such a believer in natural home birth, this is the experience I want!! If anyone has any ideas, resources, or referrals, I am open to anything!  ~Thanks for reading!  *Gabby..

lpn2be,

If you are still looking for midwifery services for a planned home birth, I am available, very experienced, but am an hour and a half from Mansfield. Parents from 1.5 to 2.0 hour drive away have used me, but I encourage a midwife search closer to parent's home.  Did you find a midwife?

We are considering a move to Mansfield and this is one of my biggest concerns. I am 9wks pregnant and do not want a hospital birth. My first was born at a birth center in a hospital and I've been considering going there again - I love, love, love the midwives - but I'm also considering a home birth. Here in Detroit, we have so many wonderful options. My husband has a great job opportunity in Mansfield, but I'm discouraged to see the lack of midwives and to hear you all describe it as not very natural-friendly. I did see that there's a LLL group, though. We also have a family doctor we love who is supportive of delayed vax, co-sleeping, extended nursing, etc.

Any thoughts?

Nicole Oney would be about an hour from you, I think.  She was my midwife for my homebirth and I would recommend her.

Hi Sarahbel,  wishing you a wonderful early pregnancy-time!  little babies have such an incredible rate of development & growth!

"Any thoughts?"

yes!   I just share my heart as a mother- and encourage you to explore having your baby at home with experienced assistance for the advantages of the most normalcy in childbearing, comfort for mother and child and greater safety.  I think there are several midwives to choose from within reasonable distance from Mansfield.  My 4 children were homeborn, in the safety and comfort of my hearth and each were joyful monumentous experiences.

A great job opportunity for your husband is worthy of the challenge involved in moving and creating new home for your family ...even during a growing season : )          (in my opinion)

patience, hope, trust.......takes one far    (providing the most growth)
