clear mucous with blood in baby's stool....

he is 6 months old and so far we haven't had much luck with food.  i'm not even sure this is an allergy, but my ped is already closed, so I can't make an appt until tomorrow morning.  I'm suspecting FPIES in my son....severe reactions to formula and rice cereal so far.  i tried apples last week and noticed an increase in spit up but no severe vomiting, but he only had 4 exposures and I started getting nervous and quit.  dairy in my diet also seems to bother him (quits sleeping and just gets irritable), but have had a slight increase in it in my diet due to eating out too much.  he is on probiotics daily, but i've forgotten them the last 2 days and up until this afternoon his poops have been normal for him.  just now changed a diaper that was nothing but nearly clear mucous (tinted brownish/yellowish) with a small clump of blood in it.  sheesh, re reading this post makes me sound like a crummy mom forgetting his probiotics and not being vigilant about my diet :(  does this sound like an allergy to you or something else?

Yeah..... holding off on solids as much as possible, at least until you get to "normal", can be a good idea if you've already had trouble.  Hard at 6mo; they want to try everything!  I've wondered about probiotics being dairy-free.  They have to be cultured on something. I looked for PB for my severely allergic DD, but because of the severity I had to be 100% sure it wasn't from a dairy culture.  Couldn't find one guaranteed with my limited search.

we use culturelle for kids...dairy and gluten free.  it makes a HUGE difference.  saw the dr. today, leaning toward MSPIES  or FPIES :(

Wow. Be careful about probiotics especially the Culturelle for kids. We tried that with my son and he cried about 6 hours straight, slept for 2 hours and then cried for 4 more hours. The next day he had almost black colored stool. Very scary. Regret that big time.
