My baby was born at 3:31am Sunday, July 10th, at the birthing center! I had been having contractions about 8 minutes apart since Friday night, and they finally picked up Saturday night after dinner. We went to the birthing center at 11:30pm and I was 5cm dilated and 100% effaced. We walked around outside in the landscaping and sat on the yoga ball for a while. At 7cm my water still hadn't broken but the bag was bulging, so my midwife broke it and then we got in the pool. Everything happened really quickly, and I only pushed for 20 minutes. DH caught her and pushed her underneath my legs so I could bring her up out of the water. We recovered quickly and came home at 7:30am, just a few hours after she was born. She is beautiful and perfect! She weighed 7lbs 3 oz and is 19 inches long - much smaller than we expected! Will post pictures soon. We named her Arianna, and we will call her Aria.
