Hi all, I am almost 7 weeks pregnant and very overweight for my height-186 lbs at 5'4 looking to get much healthier and stronger throughout my pregnancy to ensure that I am up to the challenge of being pregnant for the next year, pushing the baby out, and healing while getting breastfeeding off of the ground.  And of course, I would like to only gain what is necessary for a healthy baby so that ideally I would be on a good path toward being a healthier, more energetic size after having the baby.

This is my third pregnancy and I was very active walking, swimming, and using the elliptical along with prenatal yoga with the first two without any issue.  This time around I feel like I have to try harder because I am starting at a deficit.  I will be joining a gym in the next week or so to help me do this. Are there any exercises I should stay away from?  Some things seem obvious, I won't be bench pressing for example, but can I use the leg equipment to build up strong, toned legs safely as long as I am using lighter weight/resistance and listening to my body or are some motions just not safe at all?

TIA
