I couldn't find anything recent on rubella either. I know it's much less contagious than some of the other diseases. I actually started researching it a few weeks ago to see how bad they are going to push the rubella scare on me since I'm pregnant (if I'm not already immune) but I found nada.

Most recent data I could find was 2008 when 16 cases of rubella were reported.

I think with something like rubella, getting an accurate number of true cases in children might be difficult since often the symptoms are so mild they go unnoticed or they are thought to be something else.

they are basically runny nose, mild fever, swollen lymph nodes and a red blotchy rash. How many other viral illneses present this way? Older people, especially women, often get joint pain as well.

i had it when i was 3mos old, so did my 4 older sibs...can't help but wonder if it has something to do with my joint problems now.  or the juvi arthritis i had as a kid...hmmmmm...i had always tested positive for it when i was preggo..so for me, the immunity lasted at least 32 yrs, and that was 10+yrs ago..

I have a friend who immigrated to Australia and his daughter had it at just under a year old.  Not a 3rd world country.
