I have a 26 mth old and a newborn..DD1 has handled the transition to being a big sis okay..as well as we expected her to. She was still very attached to me before DD2 was born, so I knew she would be jealous and things would be be rough at times...but now I am getting worried. The past few days I haven't been able to turn my head bc DD1 will go up to the baby and grab her by the head/arm and shake and pull her violently. It is very upsetting to see. We keep explaining to her that she must be nice and gentle.bc sissy is a little baby and she could hurt her or give her a boo-boo etc..I have also been telling her to apologize and to show me how she can be nice by gently rubbing her arm, head etc. I understand that a two year old cannot comprehend that she could harm the baby, but I guess I am looking for more tips on how to properly deal with this. Am I doing the right thing? We have sat her down and tried to acknowledge how she feels and explain that we love her very much but that we must also love her sissy. She is obviously acting out of frustration and feeling left out, right? Any tips would be so appreciated.
