I read past posts on here but it was only 2 people so still not sure other thoughts on this.  Is actually getting teeth cleanings a good thing or does that make you more prone to cavities?  My kiddo's are 4 yrs. old and they have had their first clanings actually last year and were due for  cleanings now and I thought about this then so decided to look it up! Amazing someone else thinks like myself!LOL  Don't know how to do a poll on here but that would be interesting to know what one's experiences are with cleanings and getting cavities more afterwards or not.

I have never noticed that. I do have cavities (from childhood and then from nursing and being pg at the same time) but my oldest has gone every yr and never had a cavity. I refuse the fluoride because I don't like the trays and so much of it sitting there entering the blood stream but now my dentist paints it on the teeth so may reconsider (we don't have it in our water) because topically I think it is fine. I personally don't think it promotes cavities but unless you are inspecting your teeth or a cavity gets so bad it hurts you don't notice it you have them a lot of the time and IMO the dentist finds them early. So it may SEEM like a cleaning and cavities are linked ya know. I personally enjoy after a good cleaning lol.
