Waldorf mamas, I'm looking for Simplicity blogs combined with family life, does anyone know of any?

Thought I would ask here as I know there are several of you that are really interested in simplicity and family life. For example, does the lovely Boatbaby  have a blog? I know she knows a lot about simplicity because she lives on a boat! I read Simplicity Parenting about a year ago and also Mitten String For God (both of which I adored) and we have really been working on our environment, to make it simple and easy and the impact it's had has been so positive I would like to read more about it, for example:

  • simplicity and toys (We are very simple already and have pretty much decided we aren't buying more toys as they are not needed)
  • simplicity and books (Struggle with this)
  • simplicity and food
  • ways of discussing simplicity with children/decluttering with children
  • simplicity in different areas of the home

I am also interested in reading about extreme simplicity, if there is such a thing! Thank you so much!

My family is interested in simple living.  I also try to do this with two very small children.  Our methods are library over buying books, decluttering and rotating toys (avoiding plastic junk and recycling toys) and purposely keeping our life home-centered for our children.  You can find me at http://impossibleway.livejournal.com.

I also enjoy Frontier Dreams, Bending Birches and Soule Mama.  I'm sure there are others, but those are my daily favorites.  I enjoy your blog, too. smile.gif

(blush) Thank you!

We're pretty good about the toys and stuff and such, but we also struggle with the book issue. So so so hard to say no to books, but we're quite literally going to sink our boat with literature. We have switched the grown up books to Kindle (a big sacrifice for me, I am pretty old fashioned with reading) and we've thinned the kid books, giving many to friends.

I am a glutton for children's books, too, but blessedly my budget prevents having too many.  Instead, we are learning to treasure our brief visits with them from the library.

Due to the emergence of an avid reader in our family, we have just "discovered" the library as well. The kids were so baffled, "They let you use these for FREE?"   LOL.

This is SO funny Mamauk you asking this, as I always read your blog and find it inspiring too! Other favorites of mine are Waldorfmama, Frontier Dreams, Clean, and I also like Soulemama and Ecomilf but those 2 are a little too much advertising for me.

Thank you so much for the compliment Sinnamon!!

And also for the blog suggestions, I haven't heard of 'Clean' so I am looking forward to checking it out. I am very interested in reading lots about this subject as our home is dramatically changing right now (six more bin/trash bags have just been filled today) and has been for the past couple of months. We going super, super simple and it is refreshing. Maybe I should write about it on my blog? I mentioned it back in January but then found it quite hard to write about really. It feels quite hard for me to put it into words.

MamaUK I'd love to read your way trough simplifiying your home! I'm doing the same, but not as fast as you I guess. We just started on rhythm ourselves and simplifying the toy area (we still have too much, but I already donated four full sacks).

I'm checking out bending birch and gentle mothering now too, thanks for the links!
