Anyone have pet insurance? What company do you use? Are you happy? Have you had any bad experiences?

thanks!

We have PetPlan for our three dogs - we spend about $15-20/mo/dog for a accident/illness/injury plan with annual reimbursement of up to $8000/animal and a deductible of $200. We've not had to use it yet, but a friend of mine has used her PetPlan insurance a tooon and said that they were very good about reimbursing quickly and fully.

PetPlan covers hereditary conditions *and* does not consider conditions pre-existing after the first year as long as you maintain your plan, both of which are VERY rare in pet insurance ime.  I've also heard good things about Trupanion insurance.

We don't currently have insurance for them, but we are hoping to put insurance on our pinschers and on our large birds. Our biggest cockatoo got very sick last year and gave us a huge (and very expensive) scare, which made us realize that we should have them covered so cost is never an issue.

So I guess I'm lurking for answers as well. lurk.gif

Here's a good impartial resource I found when I was searching: http://www.petinsurancereview.com/
