Really? I never felt like my kid could fall from the Ergo -- and they have tried. I put them down if they act like that because it is uncomfortable, but I have never felt it was a safety issue.

Love the boba, disliked the ergo for EXACTLY the reason mentioned above. Â And, I find that the Boba's support on my child's mid back makes it much more comfortable because his center of gravity is closer to mine (I also find that because of buckle placement the Boba's waist strap doesn't roll and is more comfortable for me).

Okay, I'm starting to sound like I work for Ergo, but I don't. ; )
Â
Have you ever had the strap on the Ergo "roll"? I'm not sure how that could happen?
Â
Doesn't the Ergo come up to your lo's mid-upper back? Mine does. Doesn't it hold your child right against your body, right above your hips?
Â
The weight distribution is great for me, and if I have it snugged up, there is no way my kid is going anywhere. This is why I prefer it to a frame pack.
Â
Maybe different shapes and sizes of people need different designs, I guess.

Ergo doesnt fit us well at all. My DH and I are both very tall, and our DS is very tall for his age. I feel like he is in danger of falling out of the Egro as well when he leans, it freaks me out too much, I cant use one! And its just not comfortable for us to wear. I have some friends that are much shorter than me that love thier Ergos though!

Maybe this is why my long, lean (and not super dedicated to babywearing) dh hasn't had success with the Ergo -- both he and the lo look totally uncomfortable in it.
Â
My brother is at least as big, though, and it works fine for him. Not sure why.

My DH is long and lean too
If it helps you vizualize, here is my 6'4 DH and our almost 35 Ib DS in our Boba. DH did not enjoy babywearing until we got the Boba. He hated the ring sling, sleepywrap and our Babyhawk.

So yesterday I went to the sore (yes I am lucky enough to have a BWing store near me) and I tried on the ergo and the boaba! (Now I have only ever user wraps and slings so this is a completely unbiased opinion.) I really like the boaba. It fit my DD higher on her back than the ergo and I found it a lot more comfortable and supportive, I actually really want one now DD felt weightless in it!

My daughter is 2.5 years old and about 29 pounds. I still wear her on a regular basis, although perhaps a little less readily now that I'm 30 weeks pregnant. My go-to carrier before was the Ergo. I love our Ergo. We used it every single day until I was about 26 weeks pregnant, then I switched to favouring our Vanatai woven wrap, which is more comfortable because I can tie it above my bump.Â

Me too! I'm tall and DS is tall for his age too. I invested in a Manduca and love it. A much better fit! Depending on the day I wear DS anywhere from 30 min while I do chores, to 4-5 hours if we are out and about. He's 14 months and 11 kg (~25 lb?) and really active when he's not being worn. Babywearing gives him quiet time. He's on my back most of the time, but occasionally I'll wear him on my front for some quality snuggle time
