Totally lost. Am I 14 dpo or ovulating today?!?

This is my first cycle charting after my IUD removal on June 16, did not have a period for the last few years of this. FF determined CD14 to be my ovulation day, making today CD 28, and 14 dpo. The shift is small and a little ambiguous. I have had BFN every day since 9 dpo.

Then yesterday, I had EWCM. OK, weird, but I take it as a sign that AF is coming, as I seem to remember my cycle being that way. Except now my temp is way up. I just took an OPK and it looks pretty positive. Did I just O for real, or could I actually be PG and my chart is going triphasic?

Here is the OPK.

You said it's your first chart...did you just have your first AF? If yes, it definitely looks like it could be possible that your body tried to O but may not have on CD14...but is now! I would take a pregnancy test and if it's negative then I'd assume you are fertile NOW!

I have taken many HPTs, including two this morning, all negative. I haven't had AF since before the IUD was placed in 2006. But I do remember in my pre-BC days (when I was in high school more than 10 years ago) having a 40-day cycle. So in a way, O-ing on CD 28 makes perfect sense!

I don't know why but the possibility that I'm ovulating now instead of two weeks ago makes me kind of giddy. I am starting to reflect on the whole of my life that I've been cursing my faulty reproductive system, when maybe all along it was just doing it's own thing right on schedule!  It's early to jump to that conclusion (much like all the other conclusions I have jumped to in this short process) but there it's certainly comforting thinking that maybe a 40-day cycle is just how I am, and not an indication of  a problem.

Oops, forgot to add. Answer OPK at 2 p.m., the first is from 8:30 a.m.

Sorry about the photo quality, I have the first-gen iPhone and no shutterbug skills!

I do think it is likely that you are ovulating now. It seems that your body geared up to ovulate earlier but for some reason didn't (stress, travel, or just because). This has happened to me many times. When you look at the big picture of your chart, a biphasic pattern is not noticeable until recently. So get BDing!!! If your temp continues to stay up that will confirm it!

I know I'm a bit late to comment, but I wanted to say that your OPK's don't look positive to me.  The test line needs to be darker than the control line.  The first pic is very tiny, so it's hard for me to see, but the test line still appears fainter than the control.  Did you keep taking the OPK's and temping?  I can't see your chart as FF's server appears to be down.  But based on the second patch of EW CF and your pattern of long cycles I would definitely assume you're fertile now and expect a more distinct thermal shift soon (if not already).

Okay I can see your chart now!  I would go on record saying you did not O on CD 14.  I see too that FF moved your crosshairs, but they're dashed indicating uncertainty.  I would say you O'd on CD 27 based on CF and temp.  I don't put a ton of stock in OPK's so I wouldn't worry about the OPK+ you got on CD 28.  They just don't work well for some women- never turning positive, turning up positive for days on end, turning up positive well after O... I don't see a drastic spike 24-36 hours after that OPK+ either adding to my suspicion that it doesn't mean much.  So if you have to guess, I would put more weight on your temp and CF data.  I see you didn't log any CF for CD 28- were you dry?  If so mark it as that would be an excellent indicator that you indeed O'd on CD 27.  FF might move your CH's too.  So just keep in mind while you're counting days and testing that you might be 2 days farther behind.

Right now I would say you have a pretty clear biphasic pattern, but your LP temps are not terribly high.  Every woman is different certainly, but I also would not be totally shocked if your temps dipped a bit and you geared up to O again in a few days.  Regulating after birth control can take some time.  Hopefully you did O, though!  Keep us updated!
