hello friends...i live in south jersey and am going ahead with a frozen embryo transfer in october. we need to decide whether or not to transfer two embryos (if two survive the thawing process). i am considering this for a number of reasons, but what it comes down to is that i want a home birth. does anyone know of any midwives who have attended hbac with twins? i wouls also love to hear personal success stories from anyone who has had a homebirth vbac with twins.

looking for midwife to do hbac with twins
Hey congrats on your frozen beans -- hope all goes well thawing and transferring! To answer your questions, here is some info based on research I did about a year ago...(this is not intended as legal advice.)
Â
Licensed midwives cannot attend homebirths of twins or vaginal births after cesareans in the state of NJ legally, pursuant to NJAC 13:35-2A.11. It looks like no matter your outcome, you are "legally" risked out of a homebirth with a licensed midwife. If you're willing to go with an "underground" midwife, that is certainly an option and a choice you could make. You could also consider the surrounding states, like PA or DE, depending on their state laws in regard to the practice of midwifery.
Â
An alternative would be to do a hospital birth with midwives. I don't know where you are in South Jersey, but I have heard great things about the Avon Midwives. There are also midwives who deliver at Jersey Shore Medical and Monmouth Medical (more central Jersey...) but another option.
Â
Good luck figuring out the best choice for your family!
