Anyone learn to draw their own art cards?

I'm thinking of this idea, plus doing some needle-felted scenes like those in the Magic Wool books.  Anyone done their own Waldorf postcards for the nature table?  I think I'll use colored pencils and draw my inspiration from the Mercurius catalog.

i think it would be great.

DH and I are drafting images of a scandinavian house troll -- considered a protector of the home. and, i'm doing seasonal cards/drawings as well (using a tree as the foundational image -- because they have such seasonal changes).

i found working with wool really difficult, but apparently other people find it very easy. :D

It would be fun if you could share a photo of your work when you get done, maybe in a blog link or from flickr.  innocent.gif  I've been needlefelting for awhile now, but it's been a long time since I've made a scene on wool felt.  I think it depends greatly on the type of wool you have and the tools, too.  I took a class and really enjoyed it--some of the techniques in Magic Wool are a little nebulous.  Needlepoint, on the other hand, has never made sense to me.  Now, I just have to wait for the perfect naptime opportunity.  winky.gif

i can cross stitch pretty well. i'm thinking that a cross stitch would be a nice way to communicate my scandinavian house troll.

I've thought about it. :) I think it'd be fun to make a postcard-sized wool felted design. You could cut wool felt the size of a card, then needlefelt your inspiration onto it.
