This morning was my first prenatal visit with my OB. About an hour before the appointment I had light spotting. I was so glad that I was already scheduled to go in. At the office everything went well but the Dr. saw light spotting so sent me for an ultrasound this afternoon. My last period was May 19th, so my EDD was Feb 22nd...making me 8 weeks along today.
I was very nervous about everything. They couldn't see much on the external u/s....so she did the internal one. (I don't know the technical terms...bare with me.) The tech did not have the best bedside manner. It was just me in the room. My husband couldn't get the afternoon off work, so one of my best friends took me. The tech wanted just me back there. The screen was faced away from me and for what seemed like an eternity she scowled at the screen. That makes one feel uneasy.
She finally moved the screen towards me and showed me the tiny bean...you could definitely see the fluttering of a constant heartbeat. I cried. She said that it looked earlier than 8 weeks and estimated it at 6 wks 4 days. So looks like I may be due in the first few days of March...but hopefully y'all don't mind if I hang around here too.
