16 month old needs 2 fillings/possible crowns

Hi all,

My 16 month old has been suffering from tooth pain, it turns out his 2 top molars came in very soft without enamel on the bottoms. He needs to have them fixed soon, as he is clearly in pain and I am afraid it will get worse fast.

We saw a ped dentist today who wants to give him novocaine and put him on the papoose board while she fixes them. She thinks it will take up to 10 minutes on each tooth. 20 minutes is a long time for a 16 month old to be screaming and crying and fighting. But I am terrified of sedation.

What do I do? I am honestly having a panic attack right now. I can't believe we have to deal with this. :(

What about looking into cell salts to help with enamel? Sorry I don't have any help about the sedation as we never went through that, but here are some good peace vibes goodvibes.gif

That method sounds very old fashioned and cruel to me. Totally awake strapped to a board? I can't imagine. I would look at other options with another dentist.
