OMG! I think I'm finally having contractions.  Didn't sleep all night though.  I think I have a ways to go but at least I'm doing something finally! Should be today or tomorrow!  There is hope for all of us!

Thank God! I woke up today feeling really hopeless and dejected, so I needed this news! I hope your birth is everything you dreamed of! Can't wait for your updates!!!

Me too- I started timing them at 5:18 this morning and they are increasing in intensity- let's hope!!! And today is my birthday too! LOL though, I am still going to my acu appointment this AM. I also checked myself and I'm dilated to maybe 3 cm or more.

Good luck mamas! I hope these contractions you guys are having keep up and you have your little ones soon!

As for me, I had a second sweep yesterday and another NST - baby is doing great - he/she must be very comfortable in there because I have nothing going on. It's very discouraging.

My midwife did say that I was about a 2, still 80% effaced and that my cervix was "very favorable" to start labor soon. Ideally, we'd have this baby over the weekend! Here's to hoping!

Labor vibes to all you patiently waiting mamas!

Great to hear ladies!

I am sosorry youre feelin down Radicaleel, did anything happen to make you feel so?

~ I too feel the need for this "support" thread today.

Yesterday''s (40+3) mw appt was a bit of a stresser. The baby's heartbeat was really kind of low (just below 100) when they first listened. Got the doppler out and listened again while I laid on my sides, definately improved back up to normal, but it is so scary when one little non-invasive listen in, reveals a maybe of worry or concern. I am trying not to worry, but it is stuff like that that make me just want them out and safe in my arms. As a result I slept horrible, imaging my own body hindering theirs. Not a pleasant night.

They also checked me and I was soft and ripening but no dialation. I don't feel it's close either. So I am to schedule a NST in the next week and start the EPO train. Also have the beginnings of another fricken yeast infection which really pissses me off. I have just finished another unwanted dose of monistat two weeks ago. I guess I may do another. You all feel comfortable with that stuff at this late in the game? MW wants me to do Tea tree oil supp. and ACV wash/douche, which hasnt worked for me before and then the 1 day treatment if I feel any more pre-labor signs. All this to avoid thrush in baby which I would def. like to avoid. Thanks for letting me vent. Haven't felt I truly "needed" this thread until this mornin.

I feel like I am about to rip someones face off if they ask me why the baby isn't here yet!  I hate feeling this way!  I am 41 weeks today.  I had an ultrasound this morning; baby is doing great, which I am thankful for.

I am petrified to be induced - I know the end goal is for a healthy baby...at this moment I think I would prefer to have a c/s as opposed to induction.  Is that really wrong?  I have been hoping for a natural birth with my Midwives as I had with my DS.  My DH doesn't get what the big deal is.

I have been short and crabby with DS (age 4.5) which makes me feel even worse.  Our dog is recovering from knee surgery and it isn't going well; and to top things off my dad has two locations of cancer and they are looking for more.

Radicaleel- when was your due date? It wasn't that long ago was it?  A few days over due is normal, I'm 10 days today.  I hope to have the baby by tomorrow.  Guess he wanted to be a Leo :-)

RaspberryLeaf-  Sounds like you have a lot going on.  Think of a great snarky comeback for anyone who asks you or just tell them that you're sick of all of the questions/comments.  Don't worry about induction, it's no where near as bad as a C/S & then is even tolerable if you really need one.

Took some Ambien, slept all afternoon, showered, packed & am off to the MWs for an NST & maybe some membrane sweeping.  I barely feel my contractions when I'm up & about, but when I lie down they are regular like clockwork.  I still have a ways to go...I hope the MWs get things moving for me.

awallrising - good luck with the sweep and NST! I really hope things pick up for you!

I just left a message with my midwives to see what they thought about me doing black and blue cohosh tablets to try and get things going. I am SO ready for this baby to come. I wake up bummed out every morning that nothing is happening.

I am having very light and irregular cramping/tightening/back ache-y kind of stuff going on but nothing solid yet!

The baby's out!  We had an induction yesterday, and I am so, so glad to be done being pregnant.  I never thought I'd be so much more comfortable one day postpartum than I was the last two months of pregnancy, but I am.  Labor was really hard, but I think that was probably more to do with the size of the baby (nearly 2 pounds heavier than her big sister) than anything else.  And I wouldn't really change anything about it.

My best wishes to those of you still waiting!

Oh I know--it was just totally irrational hormone-induced emotions. I just feel so DONE! I think a lot of my problem is that DS1 came at 39 weeks so now being past 40 is really feeling like forever! And I'm a little bummed about baby still being posterior, even knowing everything will work out exactly how it should in the end. The 120-degree heat index today where I live made everything feel harder too.

Anyway, better now. Stole some prostaglandins from DH and then went out for spicy Indian food, so maybe *some* kind of progress will happen tonight.

Was 80% effaced last night & still 1 cm dilated but she still managed to get her finger up there (YEE-OWCH) & get some bloody show & mucus.  Contractions were 7 mins apart last night, went out for dinner & ran to the grocery store for a few things.  Woke up feeling fine this morning.

Just had 2oz Castor Oil + 1 oz Vodka with an OJ chaser...let's hope I can keep it down.  Need the take Dr Christopher's birth prep herbs & go back to sleep.

I hope it works & this baby is out today!  7-23-11 is a good prime # b-day, otherwise if he waits til tomorrow he'll be born on my Dad's 70th b-day.

Hope everyone is effacing, dilating or pushing out babies!

Kept down the CO joy.gif, got some sleep, had tons of diarrhea (sorry TMI),  took some Dr Christopher's which I quickly threw up (maybe 'cause I took on an empty stomach), ate, took more Dr C's, so far so good.  Might be time for a nap.

Funny, I barely feel my contractions when I'm moving around, but they're there...then when I sit or lay down, they're very apparent.  Might be time to start timing them so I feel a little better about my progress.  I'm getting sick of this waiting again. I know it's gotta be soon but come on now!

Trying to get DH to take DS to do some errands & have some fun together.

I know having a baby isn't like on TV or the movies, but it still seems ridiculous how quick everything is on TV & how sloooooowwwwww things are in real life.

Hope some Mamas are making some progress.

Joining the club.  I've gone over to at least 41w2d with my other kids so I really shouldn't be surprised but here i am SO wanting baby to come out. I just want to hold this little guy! I live in Norway and with the recent masacre I really need something good to think about.  I'm thinking I might try castor oil tomorrow. Awallrising - do you think it's helped you? Anyone else thinking of trying it?

Are there any knitters here? I hit 40 weeks today and have the unbelievable urge to knit more baby stuff. Hoping this isn't my body telling my brain that we have a while to go!

I empathize- I was 41 plus 3 and my Mwife was talking castor oil starting today had I not gone into labor yet. After doing research though I did get scared of the effects and had decided against it (wasn't sure what I was going to do as far as options then). My grandmum in law used castor oil 4 times to induce 4 of her 8 children and swears by a few tablespoons followed by a hot shower- bear in mind that was over 50 plus years ago but iit got her 4 late babies out. I wish you labor vibes but know that some women just bakes babies a bit longer. I was relieved when I found out my mom was 10 days late with me (she induced) and even though I went 10 days late once before it's still nerve wracking because you feel like it's never going to happen and are then faced with medical inductions/deadlines from midwives etc; hang in there.

You certainly do need some good.   So sad; hopefully baby comes out in a peaceful birth for you.

congrats nono on your new arrivial! I just thought Id update everyone. I will be 42 weeks tomorrow and last saturday we went to the area farmers market and hubby and i were talking and saying next week(today) wed be here getting more blueberries with his parents(coming in from out of town) today we went back to the farmers market by ourselves, no baby!!

So anyway had my appt wed they did an nst. everything still sounded good. was 2 cm dialated and she did a membrane strip. it did nothing!! yesterday did quite a few things to help bring on labor and still nothing but 3-5 contractions a day! Also started taking the EPO.

Going back on monday for an ultrasound and another NST and am coming to terms with the fact that if baby isnt here by next wed or thursday i will bite the bullet and get the induction.

Happy/positive vibes please that I go into labor and can have my water birth!!
