In Montgomery County, MD

Hi there,

We currently live in CA, but will be moving to Damascus, MD in late August.  My husband will be starting a new job in Rockville, MD.  We are looking for opinions on the following, including good and bad experiences:

1. Any thoughts on Midwifery Care Associates and/or having your baby at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital?  I am currently 26wk pregnant with my second baby and have been going to a midwifery practice thus far.

2. Any pediatrician recommendations?  My first born will be 5 by the time we move and is in a great state of health.  He will need a new pediatrician and his sister will too once she arrives in Oct.

3. Any preschool recommendations?  My son was all set to continue at his preschool here in CA this fall, but with the move will need a new place to go.  We were in a play-based co-op preschool.  I do not think I will be able to co-op this time around with having just moved and preparing for/having a newborn.  So any opinions on any type of preschool would be appreciated.

Thank you for any opinions/advice/thoughts you have to offer!

Awe, man! I was hoping to come back to this thread for your recommendations down the road. Why all the PMs?

I don't know about anyone else, but I was following the Healthcare provider policy

Thanks for that link, I was unaware, and it's actually quite interesting. I've been reading about legal claims doctors can or can't make in response to anonymous reviews on sites like Yelp and RateMDs. Mothering takes a more conservative stance.

Sorry for the topic de-rail. I do appreciate it!

I'd love the same info if anyone wants to PM me. Moving to the area with my two girls (5 and 7), DH, newborn son in a month or so. Also looking for kid-friendly dentistry practice. Thanks for any thoughts!
