2 vessels instead of 3 detected on 14 week ultrasound

We had our NT scan last week and the perinatologist said they saw 1 artery and 1 vein instead of 2 arteries and 1 vein going from the placenta to the umbilical cord.

He said it's fairly common but could be an indicator of a problem. I feel fairly confident that everything is fine but I'm curious if anyone else has had this experience.

i havnt personally but i have a friend who is now eight months pregnant and they said the same thing she went in for a 3d ultrasound with a specialist and it came out that everything was normal i would get a 2nd opion
