Welcome dingdong.  Sorry to hear you've been struggling.  Have you and your partner been tested by a fertility specialist?  As for vitex, I've personally avoided it because I've heard it can mess with a "normal" cycle, although every woman is different so what works for some may not work for others and vice versa.  Have you been charting at all?

I just wanted to chime in and say I agree with ISISandOSIRIS. I have avoided vitex for the same reasons. Hopefully someone will respond with more information/experience for you. I also agree that if you haven't been charting you should try it. Charting can at least confirm that you are ovulating regularly and whether or not you luteal phase is long enough for conception to take place. I would at least rule out a few of these things before considering taking vitex. Best of luck! Feel free to join us on some of the other threads! The One Thread, or other threads where you think you might fit. Many of us have been ttc for a very long time as well.

I have heard widely that vitex is not good for women with regular cycles, even in small doses like in tea. I don't know if you're interested in taking a "medical" step, but if you are, I would recommend asking your OB/GYN for basic bloodwork for you, and ask your partner to have an SA. For us, we knew it was me, so we didn't have an SA done, but I understand from friends that it's easy to get a script for an SA (ask your OB/GYN how), easy to do, and relatively inexpensive. Fifty percent of the time, it is the male partner's issue, not the female partner's. If you have regular cycles, chances are good that you are ovulating (though ovulating is only one part of the puzzle, of course). I know it's scary to think of getting tested (it was for me), but the SA and some basic blood levels for you could give you a lot of answers. If there are no red flags, that is helpful to know too. In the meantime, you can start charting. It drives some women nuts to chart, but for me it was an empowering thing - knowledge calms me down. It's good to have something to "do" every day to help get where you want to be. Charting in itself could help you time things perfectly and maybe you won't need anything else!
