Question about Bentonite Clay

I posted this in the main health and healing forum too but I don't seem to get many responses there so I thought I'd post here too, I know a lot of you use bentonite clay so.....

I am dealing with Candida at the moment and have been reading about bentonite clay. I would like to start taking it internally so I picked some up at my local health store. They had a liquid that said it was for taking internally and then there was some in powder form that said it was for facials. I went with the powder form since I remember reading somewhere that it was recommended to buy the powder form and mix it yourself. On the back in bold letters is says "FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY". It says it's 100% Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay and it's light green in color. Is this still the stuff I can take internally despite the warning on the back? I'm a little confused confused.gif

All I know is that powdered bentonite absorbs HUGE quantities of liquid.  I would not take it in that form for that reason.  Sorry I can't help on its medicinal virtues.......

Ok, another question...what is it supposed to taste like? Cause that was just downright nasty! orngtongue.gif

Can anyone recommend a good source or brand of bentonite clay for using internally?

I order mine online in powder form from www.pascalite.com/  I think there are several brands mentioned on another thread here about probiotics and clay. If you do a search for bentonite clay here, there are several substantial threads. I was told to hydrate it overnight in a mason jar (add powder, then water then leave it) and drink it the next day. Don't let it come in contact with metal. Right now I am taking 1 Tbsp in 8 oz water (started at 1 tsp in 8 oz water). I don't really notice a taste, but it is gritty. You can read about ingesting clay here (I think this link was also in another thread about clay from here): http://www.eytonsearth.org/drinking-clay-internal-use.php

Thank you so much, that's very helpful! I think I just bought clay that's not very high quality or something because it really did taste pretty nasty and I can usually tolerate some not so pleasant stuff :p I will check out the link you posted and do a search for other threads, thanks so much for your help!
