Temping questions

I'm not a regular, but I lurk around here occasionally, and I have a question.
I used to be very 'in tune' with my cycles, but after a miscarriage in january 2010 and two separate (unsuccessful) attempts at regulating/increasing my body weight with BCP, my cycle is a mess, and I'm always surprised.
I learned about charting a few years ago, but since I was able to monitor my cycles well enough without it, I never really did it actively.
Now, I want to start!

For the question - I have a very odd sleep schedule.  I'm 19, and self-employed, so I'm often up until 2 or 3 am, and only get up around 11 am or noon  (please don't hit me :P ).  Will this have an effect on my temp, or will it be fine as long as I temp around the same time of day each time, and get a decent amount of sleep (at least 3 consecutive hours) ?

Thanks in advance :)

I think it depends.  I find for me, my temps start to get a bit wonky after a certain time, but others don't have this issue.  I would start temping and see how it goes.  Since it is your normal sleep schedule, you may find it works really well.

I agree with everything Jodi said.  It really does depend on the individual, but it doesn't hurt to try!  And b/c it is your typical schedule it might work out just fine.  However, if you sometimes get up earlier I think you'll find your temps being quite erratic.  Really focus on the same waking time- within 30 minutes.   You can log your data on www.fertilityfriend.com so you can share your charts with us for help deciphering anything confusing.

Thanks ladies :)  I've started on Fertility Friend, so I'll share once I have a decent chart going.
