rosetta stone? Homeschool vs personal version

If you have rosetta stone, do you use the homeschool version or the personal?  Also, how many levels did you buy?  Part of me says to just get level one, but then again the price for the bundle is tempting.

Finally, if you didn't use rosetta stone and had a different (yet wonderful) program that you used for Spanish let me know what it was!

Thanks,

I have the level 1 Vietnamese in both the personal edition and the homeschool edition (bought several years apart...the personal edition didn't work on my new computer so I had to buy a new version).  I like the homeschool version a lot...there are a lot of choices on how quickly you move through the program (there is a course for non-readers all the way through people who want to gain fluency).  There are also worksheets and good record keeping.

I only buy one level at a time because Rosetta Stone tends to revise their programs and update them frequently.

I know our public library has free language learning software on their website that anyone with a library card there can access...maybe your library has that?

I think the difference AllyRae is noticing between her Personal and Homeschool editions are related mostly to the different versions of the program she's using. There's nothing different in the actual course content between the two. The only difference is that the Homeschool version allows the parent a separate module to login and view and analyze the progress of one or more users through the various units, which can be useful for reporting and/or grading. The Homeschool version also allows the parent to "assign" abridged versions of the program to various users, which would be useful for young non-readers.

My middle dd has been using French Levels 1 & 2 for a year now, and I only just got around to installing the Homeschool module a couple of months ago, to help with generating reports for our umbrella school.
