allergies and breastfeeding?

Thread Starter

my allergies are REALLY bad this week. i've been putting up with it, but i have fluid in my ears from allergies, and i'm so dizzy i keep nearly falling down when i bend to pick up my baby. she's 6 months old. i have had issues with bfing this time around and am exclusively pumping. my milk supply went down for a while but it's back up now.

what can i take to help with the allergies? the vertigo is killing me and there are times when i'm feeling like it's unsafe to pick her up if it's not totally necessary. i know most antihistamines risk a drop in supply and i would like to minimize the risk. any advice?

I take claritin (the generic version, actually). I think it is an L1, and Hale states that it doesn't have supply issues. I have never seen a dip with it.

Note:I do not have Hale's book in front of me, so you may want to get a second confirmation of what it says.
