Hi

We already are here in Paris, but dh is being offered a job in Switzerland, its the early stages but I wanted to look at the schooling systems between the two countries - it's that that interests me the most and if we can get better education system in Switzerland than france then I'm very happy to move there - anyone have any experience of being in france and working elsewhere, what the tax differences are like etc - any information, personal experiences are gratefully appreciated.

Confused by your title.

You would be moving to Switzerland, not the border area, right?

Would this be a Francophone or Swiss-German area?

You might do better asking those who live in Switzerland. I live close (1 1/2 hours) from Basel. It can be confusing for expat children in the German area because schooling is in standard German while all the kids speak the dialect. So basically, they have to learn both.

Swiss schooling is tough and one big difference is that far fewer students take the Bac. It's almost standard in France but only the elite few get to that level in Switzerland.
