I hate my Britax Frontier Booster

What a waste of a colossal amount of money! My 7.5yo can't do the seatbelt himself because it won't feed through the booster seat easily so I have to climb into the van every time to buckle him in. Plus, I had to move his booster to the back row of the van to make room for a new baby car seat and it doesn't fit properly. I can't get the latches to tighten enough. Of course, after spending a lot of time trying to tighten them I gave in and came inside to check the online user manual, which said it doesn't even need to be latched when using the booster and seatbelt. Is it unsafe to have it loosely latched?

I'm just so fed up with it. It really sucks to spend that much money on a child car seat that you can't try before buying because no stores in the area carry them. I loved it with the harness but it just does not work well with the car seatbelt.

You do not need to use LATCH if the seat is in booster mode.  People like having the option to LATCH the booster, because then the seat does not become a projectile if you have an accident when no one is sitting in it.  But using LATCH does not make it any safer for your son.  If you choose not to use LATCH, just make sure to buckle the seatbelt over the booster when it's not in use by your son.  This is recommended for any brand of booster.

If you are frustrated by the seat and you no longer need it for its extended harnessing capabilities, can you sell it and replace it with a dedicated booster like the Turbobooster?

I guess I should try it without the LATCH. Maybe that would at least make it easier for my ds to buckle the seatbelt in. I just assumed that it would be safer using the LATCH.

I've got at least one more kid who can use it for the extended harnessing, I think. Maybe I need to check the height and weight requirements on the seats I have. My 4yo is still in his Britax Boulevard. I liked the extended harnessing of the Frontier because I thought that would be safer than a booster with a seatbelt. Then I read on here that once the child gets to a certain size, the harness might actually be less safe so I don't know. Maybe it's better for my 4yo to go from the Boulevard whenever he grows out of that straight to a booster. My 7yo was in the Boulevard for a long time.
