Nursing and cavities?

My wonderful and beautiful DS (2.24.09) nurses on demand (including nights, though that's tapering down quite a bit) and has 3 cavities (2 in front) despite good dental hygiene. Is it possible that the night nursing caused the cavities?

In short, it is highly unlikely that nursing habits contribute to tooth decay.
