hug2.gif  I understand. I haven't added anything to this thread because we are so far from the toddler years, but I relate to this statement. I still hear it about things. The whole "if you do X, your kid will do Y" thing is just.......

 

not true for my DD on the spectrum. I can do X, and, it not even like she'll do Z or A or any letter, but skip right to 347, or may be even an irrational number.

lol.gif that made me giggle. I think if my DS could be any number, it would certainly be an irrational one. And it would change from day to day (and hour to hour). wink1.gif

You're doing the best you can and your son will benefit from that eventually. It's just hard when the 'usual' stuff doesn't work for you child.


nod.gif  It can be really helpful when you have a second child who behaves as people expect--we could say "well, if ds is our "fault" as parents, how do you explain dd?" The 'usual' stuff worked with her.
