I'm sorry you wish you could delete the thread. That suggests that your questions haven't been answered and that you haven't gained any helpful information. Looking back through the discussion, I think I bear a lot of responsibility for taking the conversation away from your original interest, which was about gifted assessments. If so, I sincerely regret it.Â

As I stated before, I have no personal experience with the WPPSI, but my dc have been assessed and identified. Like a pp's child, they generally enjoyed the experience. I found the results of the assessments to be very helpful. If there are specific questions that you have about the assessment process, as opposed to that particular instrument, then perhaps I can respond - Â and I'll even try to stick to the subject Â

BTW, following another recent thread, it occurred to me that there is one significant advantage to assessing without trying to fulfill any specific criteria for admission to a gifted program. If the assessment is done simply for information purposes, then it's less likely to create stress and pressure to do well and obtain certain scores, and much less likely to contribute to a competitive attitude between parents/students. When the stakes are low, or none, there isn't any pressure to perform.Â
