BACK STORY: TWO BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTERS BOTH HEALTHY PREGNANCIES. IM 27 AND DH AND I JUST DECIDED TO HAVE ANOTHER BABY!

AND WE'RE UP TO DATE. I HAVE BEEN SECRETLY TTC FOR ABOUT 4 MTHS NOW BUT WE HAVE BEEN KNOWINGLY TTC JUST THESE TWO MONTHS. SO THAT ADDS UP TO 6 MTHS. ANY WAY, I O'ED ON DAY 15 OF MY 28 DAY CYCLE. HUBBY AND I "EXERCISED" THE DAY BEFORE AND THE DAY OF. I HAVE TAKEN TESTS AT 6 DPO- TODAY WHICH IS 10 DPO AND ONLY ONE WAS A BFP. ( I THINK THE BFP WAS AN EVAPORATION LINE) ANY WHO, I HAVE ALL THE SYMPTOMS OF BEING PREGNANT LIKE I DID WITH BOTH OF MY GIRLS, BUT THE BFN IS THROWING ME OFF. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK. I WANT THIS TO BE THE ONE FOR US SO BAD.

I'd say you are testing way too early.  I would wait about 4 more days and test again.... Good luck!

How did you confirm ovulation?  Do you chart your temp and cervical fluid?

If you really were 6 DPO when you first tested then that is way too early.  If you had the earliest implantation possible (6 DPO) it's still impossible to get a BFP on an HPT at that point b/c your hCG levels wouldn't have had any time to build up.  Some women say they've gotten BFP's as early as 7 DPO, but that is super rare.  A few more women have gotten BFP's at 8 or 9 DPO, but most of us have to wait until around the time of expected AF... generally 12-14 DPO to get accurate results.

What test have you been using?  I would recommend a test that only requires an hCG level of 25 like dollar store tests, many generic drug store tests, Answer strips, or First Response Early Response.  Blue dye tests seem to be plagued more by evap lines than pink dye tests, so keep that in mind as well.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I USED OPK AND CERVICAL FLUID. SO I WAS RIGHT ON WITH OVULATION. :)

I USED THE DOLLAR GENERAL BRAND AT 6DPO

7DPO WAS EPT

8DPO WAS EPT ( GOT A EVAP LINE I HATE THOSE TESTS BUT THEY WERE ON SALE)

9DPO WAS FRER STARK WHITE AND ONE LINE! I WAS SO UPSET!

10 DPO WAS ALSO A FRER WAS ALSO STARK WHITE!

IM JUST REALLY HOPING I GET MY BFP BEFORE WED OF NEXT WEEK. I HATE ANTICIPATING AF! I HATE HER LOL!

You definitely could be right on with ovulation, but just keep in mind that OPK's and cervical fluid only tell you when you are gearing up to O, they cannot confirm O.  So it is still possible that you O'd later than you think you did, especially if you saw a second patch of fertile CF a few days later.  Just keep that in mind when you're testing or if AF is late and you're still getting BFN's.

EPT's with the lines require hCG levels of 50, their +/- kind only requires 25, but has bad reviews for evap lines.  FRER has been the standby of many an early tester, but really the dollar store tests and generic drug store tests are just as good.  You can check out this site for HPT sensitivity levels: http://www.peeonastick.com/hpts.html.

If you don't get a BFP this cycle you could consider temping next cycle to just help confirm things a bit better for you.  If you're interested in that and need help getting going, just post!  thumb.gif

I HAVEN'T HEARD OF IT UNTIL I STARTED READING ON HERE. WHAT IS IT? HOW DO I DO IT? ETC....

My recommendation would be to read Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler.  It's really an amazing book packed full of information I never knew about my body.  But you don't have to read it cover to cover to get started.   Pick up a basal body thermometer from your local drug store.  Take your temperature first thing in the morning when you wake up.  Don't get out of bed don't sit up, don't drink water and don't fall asleep while temping.  Try to take it after a good block of sleep (3 hours is recommended) and really focus on getting it around the same time each morning (within half an hour).  You can log your temp and cervical fluid data on a free site like www.fertilityfriend.com so that you can share your charts with us for tips and help deciphering anything confusing.

Pre-O your temps will be lower as a group than your temps during your luteal phase.  The day before the spike in temperature is generally your peak day or O day, though there are different temp patterns and it is generally agreed that there is a 3 day window or so around the temp rise that actual O took place.  But that jump in temp confirms O did happen.  It's truly fascinating to see!

Night waking LO's and breastfeeding can cause more erratic temps so don't worry if your chart doesn't look perfect.  Despite awful sleepers I have always managed to see a biphasic pattern and pinpoint O without much trouble.

Post if you have more questions!
