My son turns 5 in the middle of September. We've always had family and friend birthday parties. So now that he's going into Kindergarten, he wants a big party where he can invite all his new classmates. We've decided on a small zoo so I'm thinking maybe a safari theme? Do you guys have any other theme advice? Also looking for game ideas and any other tips on how to make this an amazing party that the kids and parents won't forget. I tend to be a shy person so I'm pretty freaked out about this, haha. I welcome all of your tips and advice! Thank you <3

If the party is at a zoo, than it seems like the safari theme would be the best. If your son has a favorite animal, you could focus on that animal in your decorating. You should be able to get animal party supplies such as cups, plates and a pinata would be fun!! (After I wrote that I was thinking you would most likely need more then one, and it would have to be very well supervised)

Have a great party, enjoy it and having cake, playing some games and viewing animals in small groups is all you really need to do!!

You could make binoculars with two toilet paper tubes taped together, ribbon/string to hang around the neck, maybe animal stickers to decorate. You could do it as the first activity as guests arrive or have them pre-made.
A scavenger hunt or bingo type game where kids search the zoo for various things: a carnivore, a flowering plant, an animal from each continent or from a variety of habitats/climates.
You might be able to find cheap pith helmets at michael's or oriental trading company to use as party hats.
