twisty straps in the nautilus

We've had the nautilus since January, and this is a new problem in the last few weeks. So I'm wondering if dd just a growth spurt that changes the way she fits, and thus the behavior of the straps? Anyway, the straps like to twist right where the crotch strap is buckled, on both sides. Literally *every* time I unbuckle her, I need to be careful when I slide the buckle thingies along the straps to be sure that I'm *untwisting* and not twisting it to the point where its completely flipped over. Even immediately after buckling her you can see the straps looking like they are very eager to get good and twisted. The crotch strap is in the furthest forward/largest setting. I'll try and get a pic next time I buckle her in to show what I mean, but is there any fix for this?

Hmmmm.

I'm having trouble picturing this, because once the harness is properly secured and tightened, it's literally impossible for the straps to twist, as they are taut and lying flat on the child.  Would you be comfortable posting a picture to illustrate the problem?  You can take it from the neck down if you have privacy concerns, LOL.

Our Frontier does this.  Drives. Me. Mad. !!  It's only when unbuckled that it's an issue, but I'm *this* close to just buying a new seat and cutting my losses on the price of that piece of junk.

Sigh. Mystery solved. I feel silly now! Yesterday I buckled her in and when we arrived I told her not to start unbuckling so I could get a picture. She likes to undo her chest clip. So I went over and looked.. perfect! Then today I realized that the way she likes to unbuckle herself these days, is she undoes her chest clip, then pulls her entire upper body out of the straps. And THAT is what is making them twist. So, I told her that from now on we need to make sure to undo the bottom part first!
