DD was exclusively BF until we started solids at about 6.5 mths. At that point we started with homemade puree veggies and fruit and breastmilk also. At about 8 mths (not eating a ton of solids still) she started having dry small stools and would be crying while straining (she would go everyday though). Tried giving her water but didn't really want it so continued to nurse on demand as usual.

Now at 9.5 mths she will not eat anything pureed, anything softly cooked and cut up. The only things she will eat are cheerios, mashed up bananas(which I was told by our DR to avoid due to her having trouble pooping) and cereal (same as bananas).

Dr also told us to give her lactulose to get her stools softer and only fruits and vegies which is obvious but that cheerios and puffs (plum organic) are ok.

Now should I continue with just a diet of BM and cheerios and give her lactulose, or should I just give her BM until she gets softer stools?

Everyday I am trying to give her vegies/fruit with no success and have yet to give her any meat/chicken since I'm afraid it will hurt her belly.
