We are trying to get our co-sleeping 2 year old to sleep without nursing. It has been awful for a week now. Last night was 1 hour and 50 mins of hell!! He acts and says he is ready for bed but once we are all in bed with lights out he gets crazy! Plays with pillows, kicks, climbs on us! I have no idea how others get there toddlers to understand that its calm, quiet time... We've tried routines, books, bouncing, rocking, etc. and the only thing that works is nursing. We are going to lose our minds!! Any suggestions at all? HELP!

We have had some improvements since I posted the original post last week. Last night was the longest night to get him to sleep since the OP and it was only 40 mins. We had a few 15-20 min nights too! We have just be trying to stay consistant. Bath, book, bed, nurse for a couple minutes, then lights out, sleep. DH and I close our eyes and not play into his actions that get us to react. I hope it continues to improve. We have A LONG way to go but I am happy to report some improvement from the almost 2 hour nights!
