Prolapsed Uterus Anyone?

I just gave birth to baby # 4 about 5 weeks ago, and at 3 weeks postpartum I was feeling like my vagina was falling out so I made an appt. with my gyno and he said I have a prolapsed uterus that is stage1-2.  He sounded promising that it would reslve on its own by 40-50%.  I go back in 2 weeks to get it checked again to see if it has improved or showd any signs of improving.  If it does not improve he is suggesting surgery, which I don't want.  I have been told by him to not do alot of walking, or running or exercising, because some things can make it worse.  I do not want it to get worse, I don't want to have surgery, bu I am desperate to start exercising again.  I gained 80 lbs this last pregnancy and I still need to shed 60 lbs.  Has anyone here delt with a prolapse?  Were you able to do things to help it resolve?  It is a very bothersome thing for me as I can feel it everyday inside my vagina and I am very worried about it getting worse.  Are women who have been preggo with and given birth to multiples more likely to have a prolapsed uterus?  My midwife told me to do kegels and pilates to help, but my gyno says kegels only affect the bottom third of the vagina and won't help strengthen the ligaments that hold the uterus up, and he says that alot of pilates moves can make it worse.  I don't know who I should listen to.  When I gave birth to my son 5 weeks ago, we discovered there were 2 placentas-but only 1 baby.  So judging by the size of the 2nd placenta, my midwife and my OB both figure the other baby didn't vanish until about 12 weeks.  So my midwife feels the prolapse is due to having twins, and being so big with this last pregnancy.  I figured asking a group of mamas with multiples would be as good a place as any to see if someone has had this problem as well and what they did to help.  Thanks in advance for any advice!
