Is my baby's abnormality my fault? - Page 2

Out of line??? She's not even on the field...what a total egotistical maniac. Who would say that to someone!?!?? )#(%Y#*(&Q^*%^(

I do not think you should respond. She doesn't deserve to be anywhere in your space what-so-ever. Don't give her another second or opportunity to put such toxic, guilt-ridden things in your mind. I want to hit that woman...and I never want to hit anyone.

What a sick thing to say! How dare she imply not only that you could somehow be responsible, but that SHE could have prevented it! censored.gif

I'm happy you aren't taking it to heart. I know sometimes when you first hear something like that how easy it is to "go there" and question yourself. You are obviously a great mother already and don't let anyone tell you otherwise hug.gif

That woman is clearly a quack and you did NOTHING to cause your baby's abnormality.  Best wishes to you, mama.  Fingers x for best case scenario!

I am so sorry you are dealing with this crazy woman on top of your other worries. I would not give it another thought. I am currently 31 weeks pregnant with a ccam baby and I have read basically everything there is to find on this condition. All of it says that there is no known risk factors for a ccam or anything you can do to prevent it. My perinatologist confirmed this. There is no way to cause one, and even if there was they begin to form very, very early in the pregnancy before you may have even known you were pregnant. Good luck to you in your journey. I am going to be posting more about my situation in the ccam thread, so go check that out if you are interested.

Wow!  I can't believe what she said----one of the FIRST things I say to a mom when we find a problem like this is---"This is absolutely NOT your fault---bad things just happen to good people"  Women are made to feel guilty about miscarrying, toxemia, etc.

Having said that ---there is usually good outcomes with this condition----an experienced fetal specialist should be able to tell if the heart or lungs appear compromised---we have two lungs and can function on one!----they are usually small and cause no problem----pretty uncommon to be so bad as to need surgery right away----and there is usually nothing else wrong with baby at all!!

Good luck--let us know!
