I've been exclusively breastfeeding my 10 mo DS. He had a cold 2 months ago and he's been congested since then. He doesn't have a runny or stuffed up nose but he sounds congested when he breathes, especially while nursing. Also, he's been having slightly mucousy stools for the last couple of days. Some days, it doesn't look mucousy but when I touch it with my fingers, it is; the stools smell normal though. I'm worried about the congestion - I use a humidifier, have him sit in a steamy bath but it doesn't seem to go away. From what I've read on this forum, I suspect it may be a food sensitivity. DH who is a physician thinks I'm hypochondriacal and says all these symptoms are normal in babies and that they will go away eventually. But I'm worried. As for my diet, I eat pretty clean most of the time - home-cooked gluten-free meals, mostly organic veggies and fruit, meat, poultry and wild seafood, organic dairy (organic whole milk, organic whole yoghurt, grass-fed butter and occasionally hard cheeses).

Mommas, have you seen symptoms like these in your babies? Do they go away on their own as my DH says? What can I do to my diet to see if these symptoms go away in DS? Thanks in advance for your time.
