Eco-friendly detergent for cloth nappies in the UK?

What detergent do you UK mums use for your nappies? Currently we're using Ecover, but I've heard that people have had a problem with using it with nappies because there's too much soap and it'll leave a residue. I've been looking for alternatives but haven't been able to find many suggestions that are more of a natural, environmental friendly choice as opposed to something like non-bio Fairy. Any suggestions?

hello there. we've been using soap nuts for a couple of months now, but i'm not sure how they wash poo, we're doin EC. but i use them on all our clothes and cloth nappies that have been weed in and i love them. they're the dried shells of nuts grown in india. you pop em in the muslin bag they come with, leave em to soak for 10 minutes then pop them in with your load. i also add vinager and bi-carb and hope they do some good lol. here's a link to the site where i buy them if you're interested : ] http://www.livingnaturallysoapnuts.com/

Thanks I'll have to look into that! We're using Surcare at the moment which is alright, better than Ecover and fragrance free! Would like to find something a bit more natural though so off I go looking for soap nuts!
