Standing on the table

Will this trend go out of fashion or will I have to remove her from on top of the table and say "no standing on the table" another billion times?

Also, do you let your toddler walk/stand on the couch? I always did, but she's fallen off the couch twice THIS WEEK and now I'm starting to think I should have never allowed it.

well, i hope you find out, because my dd is all about standing on the tables. she's also learned that chairs MOVE! and can be used to access all sorts of exciting forbidden items. ugh.

In my experience no, it doesn't go out of fashion.  You have to be consistent and set rules.  Standing on the table is not allowed in my house because of the possible danger.  Toddlers have to be reminded/told over and over again before the rule "sets" in their little growing brains.  If you hope your daughter tires of it, perhaps she will but odds are not before she gets hurt or breaks something.

Regarding the couch - if you don't want her on it, redirect her.  I don't want my kids jumping on the furniture for a number of reasons so I redirect or let them know what they CAN do, i.e. they can take off the back pillows and play with them but that's it.  And yes, it takes many, many reminders.

Sorry, but I think you'ree going to have to say it a billion times.  I seemed to take the billion times and me removing my daughter from the standing position to the floor for it to finally sink in.  I still say feet on the floor please at least once a week.

We had to keep all of our dining room chairs in a separate, closed room for months and only pull them out when it was time to eat.
