Funny convo w/DD re:a boy

So my daughter calls from camp tonight. She is asking my opinion. You see, there is this boy. Apparently, he walks her to class and rehersals even though he does not have class or rehersals at the same time as her. He comes to her recitals and concerts, even when it is a quartet. He is not performing in these. He has gone boating with her and offered to teach her the piano. His best friend tells her he likes her. Oh, and he has been offering to buy her expensive concert tickets.

Her question... "do you think he likes me?"

LOL....my dh says if he had offered her a diamond ring she would not get it. I thought you all would think it is cute. She is 15.

LOL! That's cute.

So, does she like him? Maybe camp won't be such a bust after all. :p

Awww...young love :) It's nice to hear of girls still new at all this at her age. It seems many are going on full-out dates at 14/15. My older daughters are 14 and 16. The 14 year old has this new boyfriend, he's come to our house for a few hours and she's gone to his. Apparantly at his house they had a nerf gun war with his little brothers and sister. It's so sweet, and this kid is the nerd type and definately not a bad kid. His mother tells me he's so very nervous about this stuff, as my daughter's his first "real" girlfriend :) Your poor daughter's going to be heartbroken when camp is over!!

I am married to the boy who was my first kiss when I was 14...after breaking up for 5 years and having other relationships. The older I get the more flutters I get thinking back on that. His red hair and freckles and sweet lips :) Now his hair is darker and he has crinkles around his eyes and mouth, it's wonderful.

*sigh* Can you please cut it out....it is far too early in the day for me to be weepy and mushy like this! I have things to DO, woman!!

Congratulations on your love and fond memories. I fell in crazy love with my DH when I was 16 and he was 17...we were apart for a few years but remained friends and reconnected and married. It's so strange and wonderful to look at this handsome, strong man with a manly jaw and serious things to say...and remember the shy, cute as a button, skinny little kid he used to be.

*sigh* I think I shall go daydream and stare at the clouds all day now.....innocent.gif

LOL Averysmomma...I'm pregnant with #4, think of my hormones! I keep getting all mushy, myself :) Something that makes it really cool is dh's younger brother and I were good friends in high school(he was gay so nothing romantic or anything, just a good friend to keep you going) He has a big close family, there's 5 brothers and the parents are still married. I adopted his family as my own.

So, music camp wasn't a complete bust, despite the homesickness!

as for my children, they are never going to date. They're going straight into the monestary/convent. duck.gif

I might try the monestary/convent idea.

For a girl who was so home sick a few days ago, I have not heard from her since. Apparently, she and the boy hang out together.  I wonder if in another week, I will be being told that she doesn't want to come home! after getting all those tears on Tuesday!

Probably!!

ETA - I used to work at a summer camp.  Kids definitely went through cycles where they were homesick, and cycles when they weren't homesick and never wanted to leave.  Inevitably, the phase when they didn't want to leave, happened at the very end.  She will be excited to see you though!!  This is good though - they find their footing on their own, and learn that they can do it, even though its hard at times.
