Membership Level - New Member Status

Thread Starter

My membership status is shown as "New Member" under my user name.  I have been a member since 2008 and have more that 10 posts.  The tutorial for memberships states that "when you first become a member of the site you will be given the "New Member" badge. You will have posting privileges but will not be given a signature privilege until you have been registered more than 7 days and have made 10 posts."  Not a big deal, just wondering when I can be "member".  Thanks.

That is odd, and even more so since you are able to use the signature feature with smilies, which is not permitted for new members. I'll take a look and see if I can figure out what the problem is.

Good point about the smilies, I missed that.  I noticed that there are other members that seem to have the same thing going on with the number of posts and joined date.  A couple have posts in the "For fun...you know you're the parent of a toddler if..." thread, one "new member" has smilies (page 4) and another has a sig w/o smilies.  Hope this helps.

ETA:  Actually, I am seeing this trend throughout the forums.
