During pregnancy I had no stretch marks but now after a month PP I have some funky purple marks sorta around front. What gives? Can stretch marks happen AFTER? :(

I have no clue why or how about those stretch marks, that is strange and a bummer...BUT yesterday I accidentally STRETCHED and it was quite exhilarating, a position that I realized I had not been bent into in 6 months, thus awaking my brain to the thought of some yoga or actual exercise. hooray.

Mmm... well I'm a bit disappointed with how I feel lately due to the funky purple stripes I'm rocking and the not-that-far-from-the-peak-of-pregnancy-weight that I still am. Finding it hard to imagine going out for exercise - I haven't yet figured out how to do some normal things I used to do with a baby now. Mostly the physics of moving with the amazing milk machines I have now....

At 1 month baby weighs a whopping 11 lbs 10 oz now!

& took Arlo out for our 4th (count 'em four!) outing to a public space and it was challenging. But I did do my first breast feeding in public! In a Guatemalan park of all places (with one veeeery interested and gawking dude watching but oh well). So chic....

I'm 3 weeks PP and still having some bleeding/discharge. Anyone else? I'm so tired having to deal with pads!

Sorry about the PP stretch marks! What a bummer. I got my lovely tiger stripes around 37 weeks or so and I was not happy with them. I will say, they do look better as time goes on though.

I'm all... I'll just recover from induction for preeclampsia (!!!) by hauling groceries home in the heat. duh.gif.  Well, I wouldn't admit I was sick either... and really pushed that too. I think there is a lesson to be learned here...

Uh, while wearing 8lb baby in a Moby wrap. In 90 degree weather.....

I'm 4 weeks out today and I stopped wearing pads last week but I still have a miniscule bright red spotting maybe once a day. Maybe it's the chasing 2 year old while wearing newborn and breastfeeding? I haven't had the urge to DTD yet but DH is counting the minutes. Maybe it's OK to ease back into it?? I was at one point considering the copper IUD bag.gif because I just really hate condoms and while NFP worked well for us (the only 2 times we pulled the goalie got us DS1 and DS2) I really dont want another baby within the next 3 years, if ever. DH even mentioned if he should get a vasectomy already. I said no way to that. Anyway, I was thinking if I did actually want an IUD I should wait so I could just get it around the 6 week mark. But the idea of something foreign in my body just doesn't sound appealing, and the horror stories really freak me out. so we'll see... maybe a diaphragm is in my future. What are you all doing?

I'm thinking IUD too. Why do you hesitate?

and the facebook discussion that followed it

I dont really have any good reason other than I'm just really scared to do it for some reason. My BFF has the mirena and doesn't love it yet. She's been bleeding ever since she got it, which, if it's temporary would be ok (annoying but OK) with me. Theres just something about it I cant quite put my finger on. Kind of the same way I feel about vax. I kind of want to do it, but something just doesn't feel right and usually if I feel like that its my gut talking and I've never gone wrong listening to it. thumb.gif

A good friend passionately recommended an IUD to me, both of us after having our 1st kiddos, as well but I feel the same way... weirded out for some reason by having some foreign object up there. though i'm not versed in the "horror stories" !

I'm one of those women that are infertile/don't menstruate while I am nursing- up until my kids turn 3 years old (extended toddler nursing), then I ovulate (and have gotten pregnant each time before a cycle came back) this time I'm just relying on my old age LOL- I'll probably be approaching menopause when he's 3 (aged 48) so I doubt I would get pregnant but who knows since I got pregnant with him one try. In all seriousness I'll just rely on fertility signals and count my blessings of absent periods for the next 3 or more years.

I would never put a foreign object in my body especially my uterus  causes blood stasis in Chinese medicine-too many health risks- but that's me whether it be spermicide or an IUD but then again I have 6 kids so people will think natural family planning failed for me (all planned and spaced 4 years to 5 years apart).

Yes, me too, basically. The reason I asked is that it really freaks me out, and I don't know why exactly. On many levels I would much prefer it to hormonal birth control -- which I have used in the past but stopped...

Anyhow, I asked about others' concerns mostly because I am stumped about which method of birth control to use. With all respect to NFP, I do not think it will work for me for various personal reasons.  We were actually using condoms through all four years of marriage prior to my pregnancy!! I don't know that I want to go back to that either. So wasteful!
